My Journey
For more than 27 years, I believed I was helping people in the best way I knew how.
As a qualified counsellor, hypnotherapist, EFT practitioner and trainer, I dedicated my career to supporting people through trauma, anxiety, abuse and relationship difficulties. My clients made progress, but I often felt there was still a missing piece. I could see that many people understood their trauma intellectually, yet their bodies continued to respond as though the danger was still present.
The truth is, I was searching for that missing piece for myself too.
Having experienced significant childhood trauma, sexual abuse, domestic abuse and coercive control, I understood first-hand what it felt like to survive rather than truly live. Like many survivors, I carried the impact of trauma in my nervous system and my physical health, without fully understanding why.
Everything changed when I began training in trauma-informed nervous system regulation, somatics and parts work with Caroline Strawson and became a Brand Partner with The Mental Wellbeing Company. For me, it wasn’t about replacing the counselling skills I had spent decades developing—it was about completing them.
Suddenly, everything made sense.
I understood why talking alone isn’t always enough. I understood how the nervous system, the vagus nerve, attachment and our protective parts influence every aspect of healing. Most importantly, I experienced those changes personally before bringing them into my work with clients.
Today, I combine over 27 years of therapeutic experience with trauma-informed somatic coaching, nervous system regulation, Internal Family Systems-informed practice and evidence-based trauma approaches to help people move beyond survival and into genuine healing.
My mission is simple.
To create a safe space where people feel seen, heard and believed.
To help survivors understand that nothing is “wrong” with them; their bodies simply adapted to survive.
And to show that healing is possible, no matter how long you’ve carried your story.
Because I know what it feels like to believe you’ll never feel safe again.
And I also know that recovery is possible.
