Hi, I’m Jackie Akeret. First, I want you to know that I am genuinely glad you’re here. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck in survival mode, questioning your reality, struggling after a difficult relationship, or simply trying to understand why life feels harder than it should, I want you to know that you are not alone.
For many years, I believed that if I just worked harder, loved harder, stayed positive, and kept moving forward, things would eventually get better. Instead, I found myself living in chronic stress, anxiety, confusion, and emotional exhaustion without fully understanding why.
After decades of marriage, my world changed dramatically when I went through a painful divorce and discovered that many of the experiences I had normalized were actually forms of narcissistic abuse, coercive control, and trauma.
At the time, I didn’t have the language to describe what I was experiencing. I only knew that I was constantly walking on eggshells, second-guessing myself, and living in a state of fear and overwhelm. Eventually, I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD. Like many people, I sought help through therapy, counseling, books, and education. While those resources were valuable, I still felt disconnected from myself.
The turning point came when I learned something that changed my life: Trauma is not only stored in our memories. It is carried in our nervous system and experienced through the body.
Suddenly, everything made sense. My anxiety wasn’t weakness, my hypervigilance wasn’t overreacting, my people-pleasing wasn’t a personality flaw, my exhaustion wasn’t laziness, my nervous system had adapted to survive.
That realization began a profound healing journey and ultimately led me to completely retrain and dedicate my life to helping others understand what happened to them and, more importantly, how to move forward.
Today, I am a Mental Wellbeing Practitioner, Certified Somatic Trauma-Informed Coach, Narcissistic Abuse Specialist, Trauma-Informed Positive Psychology Practitioner, and Domestic Abuse & Coercive Control Practitioner. I am also a retired elementary school teacher who spent decades supporting children, families, and communities through compassion, patience, and understanding.
My work combines professional training with lived experience. I support individuals navigating trauma, narcissistic abuse, chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm through nervous system education, somatic healing practices, neuroscience, and parts work. Together, we explore the patterns that helped you survive while developing the tools that help you truly live.
I often use frameworks such as the Traffic Lights of Tolerance to help clients recognize when they are operating from fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses and understand how to gently return to a place of safety and regulation. I also incorporate parts work to help people develop a compassionate relationship with protective parts such as the inner critic, perfectionist, caretaker, or people-pleaser. My approach is rooted in curiosity rather than judgment. I don’t believe people need to be fixed, I believe people need to be understood.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can better understand your nervous system, reconnect with yourself, and build the capacity to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
Through 1:1 coaching, workshops, speaking engagements, and community education, my mission is simple: To help people move from survival to self-understanding, from overwhelm to regulation, and from merely getting through life to fully participating in it. Healing is possible, not because the past changes, but because you learn that your future does not have to be controlled by it. Wherever you are on your journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
