At The Mental Wellbeing Company, our one-to-one and group coaching sessions offer trauma informed, nervous-system-led support designed to help you better understand yourself and develop practical ways to cope with everyday life.

This is not simply about talking.

It is about understanding how your mind, body and nervous system interact, and learning how to work with those systems so that you can navigate life with greater awareness, resilience and emotional regulation.

Many people are not broken or failing. Their nervous systems have simply adapted to stress, experiences or environments in ways that once helped them cope but may now be affecting how they respond to the world around them.

A Different Approach to Mental Health & Wellbeing

Much of traditional mental health support focuses primarily on thoughts and mindset. While this can be helpful, it often overlooks something fundamental.

Human behaviour is deeply influenced by the nervous system.

When the nervous system perceives stress or threat, it can move into survival responses such as fight, flight, freeze or shutdown. These are automatic physiological responses designed to keep us safe.

In everyday life, this can show up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficulty regulating emotions, people-pleasing, avoidance, conflict in relationships or feeling stuck in patterns that do not seem to change.

Our work focuses on building nervous system capacity.

Nervous system regulation is not about trying to eliminate stress or always being calm. Instead, it is about building the capacity to cope with stress, struggle and challenge without becoming overwhelmed. Because the reality is that we cannot control other people or eliminate life’s difficulties. But we can learn how to regulate our internal responses so that we are better able to navigate them.

What Makes Our Certified Trauma Informed Coaches Different

There are many coaches working in the wellbeing space, but the depth of training behind a practitioner matters greatly when working with people’s experiences, emotions and behaviour.

At The Mental Wellbeing Company, our Certified Trauma Informed Coaches have completed extensive training in trauma informed practice, nervous system regulation and human behaviour. This training goes far beyond the short online courses that are common within the coaching industry.

Our practitioners are trained to understand how the nervous system influences behaviour, emotional responses and communication patterns. This means they are able to recognise physiological cues and responses that may not always be visible in words alone.

Trauma informed coaching sits between therapy and traditional coaching. It integrates both top-down and bottom-up approaches, meaning we explore thoughts, patterns and beliefs while also working with the nervous system and body-based responses that influence behaviour.

This allows individuals to not only understand why they respond in certain ways but also learn practical tools that help them regulate and cope in real-life situations.

Our approach is grounded in compassion, science and extensive professional training, ensuring individuals receive safe, informed and ethical support.

  • Developing personalised self-care and nervous system regulation strategies

This work helps individuals build greater self-awareness, emotional regulation and the ability to cope with life’s challenges in more supportive and sustainable ways.

Flexible Ways to Work With Us

Sessions can take place one-to-one or in small groups, depending on what feels most supportive for you.

They can be delivered online or in person, and some people choose a single session for clarity while others work over a series of sessions to explore patterns and build deeper understanding.

The focus is always the same: helping you understand yourself better and develop the tools you need to cope with life as it is.

The Goal of This Work

The goal of this work is not perfection. It is capacity.

When people understand their nervous system and learn how to regulate their responses, they develop the ability to navigate stress, relationships and everyday challenges with greater awareness and resilience.

Instead of feeling stuck in automatic reactions, they gain the ability to pause, understand what is happening internally and respond in ways that support their wellbeing.
